Last Thursday and Friday, many of our BCBAs joined their colleagues from across the state at Eastern Michigan University for the annual Behavior Analysis Association of Michigan (BAAM) Convention. The BAAM 2019 Convention provided a fun and enriching opportunity to explore the latest research, hear talks from experts in the field, and attend professional workshops.

The convention concluded with a poster session on Friday afternoon, allowing behavior analysts from both professional and academic contexts to share their original research with their colleagues. Among these poster presentations was one by Gateway team member Lauren Bauer. Lauren’s applied research project, titled “Increasing Rate and Variability or Vocalizations and Developing Echoic Stimulus Control,” explored the effectiveness of a procedure for helping a child with autism develop vocal imitation skills. All of us at Gateway are very proud of Lauren’s hard work and her contributions to the field of ABA. We are fortunate to have her as part of our team of clinicians who work so hard every day to help improve the lives of our clients!
